V-ray 6 Hotfix 2 - 3dsMax crashing

V-Ray V-Ray for 3ds Max Issues

Hi,

I just updated to V-ray 6 Hotfix 2 for 3ds max (2021) and as soon as I open the material editor and try to do anything, Max crashes and closes with the typical message:

Can you please help what might be causing this issue?

should I just go back to vray 5? that at least worked..

Could you attach the “3dsmax_minidump.dmp” file (it is located in the windows temp folder)? Make sure it is a recent one by crashing it beforehand.

You should clear crack files from previous versions and it should work.

You have these two files:

C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\V-Ray\3ds Max 2021\bin\plugins\vray_v41003_max_fix.dll
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2021\Plugins\vrayplugins\vray_v41003_fix.dlr​

Those are not part of the official V-Ray installation and are known parts of the pirated illegal V-Ray.
