V-Ray 7, Update 4, Hotfix 1, is now available for [download from our website](https://my.chaos.com/download/build?product=V-Ray&platform=3ds+Max&platform-version=2027&build-type=official&tags=windows-x64) for 3ds Max 2022-2027

**V-Ray**

- Еxtend the object gizmos overlap avoidance in Chaos Vantage in viewport

- Set V-Ray GPU as ActiveShade renderer when choosing V-Ray for the production renderer

- Support for ThinkingParticles in 3ds Max 2027

- Switch Wireframe override viewport mode to Default shading mode while Chaos Vantage is running in 3ds Max’s viewport

**VFB**

- Change the log parameters from scene oriented to user oriented

- Add minimize button to the log when it is detatched from the VFB

**V-Ray Toolbar**

- Change the default option to Chaos Vantage in viewport from the Chaos Vantage toolbar menu

**V-Ray**

- Chaos Vantage viewport ActiveShade uses locked viewport’s projection instead of the active viewport

- VRayMtl SSS data is written in the VRayRefraction render element when used with VRayBlendMtl

- Per-viewport filters are not saved when restarting Chaos Vantage in the viewport

- Distributed Rendering 2 (DR2) does not work with Backburner

- Crash with Chaos Vantage in viewport when resizing 3ds Max window

- Random crash with VRayProxy and Chaos Vantage in viewport

- Crash on Reset after rendering VRayBitmaps with user tags with Distributed Rendering 2 (DR2) and localhost enabled

- Show Histogram doesn’t trigger immediate persistent settings save

**V-Ray Toolbar**

- Button state in Chaos Vantage toolbar is not updated on Chaos Vantage viewport start/stop from the viewport ActiveShade option

I’m concerned about the lack of tyFlow Volume support.  
ARNOLD already supports it.

Nice one on the Backburner + DR2 crash fix, that combo’s been a real pain point for studios still on backburner. Vantage/VRayProxy stability fix is welcome too.
