V-Ray creating multiple suns and lights, not able to render

Hi, all the AI robots don’t know how to help me solve this, so there remains hope for humans I suppose

when I open a .skp file and attempt to start a batch render, I get nothing but a blank black page. When I do an interactive render, only emmissive lights are visible and it takes about 5-10 seconds for it to read and show the other lights in the file. Those lights though, are not what I set up in the scene before I saved and quit. In the asset editor, V-Ray has generated at least one other Sun, and sometimes duplicated dome lights and rectangle lights as well.

The only workaround I’ve found is to cut/paste everything into a new file and go from there. But, when I save and quit the new file, and open it again, the problem repeats.

I’m on a 2023 Apple M2 Pro (btw, it would be great to get GPU capabilities on this) running the latest OS (Tahoe 26.6.2) and the latest versions of both V-
Ray and Sketchup

Any help would be great, I am losing my mind over here

Hello, Shannon,

There is a known issue affecting Batch Render when using the GPU render engine on macOS with certain projects. The issue has been logged in our internal bug-tracking system as VGPU-6807, and our development team is currently working on a solution.

As a temporary workaround, you can either use Batch Render with the CPU render engine or render the images individually using the GPU.

Regarding the second issue, we would need the project file to investigate the problem further. Please pack the project file using the Pack Project Tool (example).

Then either open a Support ticket from here and attach the archive file there, or attach it directly to your forum reply.
