V-Ray Decal not working: Help!

I’m trying to replicate the following tutorial on the V-Ray Decal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6FfAXNPBgQ

It’s not working at all. Just wondering if someone could tell me what I’m doing wrong. Thanks.

Hi it_refplus,

Can you provide us with an archive of the scene that includes all its assets (File > Save Project with Assets) ?

Here’s the scene that includes all its assets. Thanks.

Hi it_refplus,

First, make sure your renderer is set to V-Ray in your render settings. I noticed that in your scene it was set to Standard. Secondly, put the V-Ray Decal on top of the surface you want to project it on, not inside it.

Give these a try, let me know if you still run into any issues.

I’m not sure I understand what you mean by “put the V-Ray Decal on top of the surface you want to project it on”. In the object hierarchy, the V-Ray Decal is on top of the object (cube). Is this what you’re referring to??

Hi it_refplus,

What I meant is to place the V-Ray Decal directly on the visible surface of the cube, ensuring it’s not inside or behind the geometry. Please see this video example.
