V-Ray users

How many seats of V-Ray are there compared to forum users? I ask, because I talk to a ton of V-Ray users that are not on the forum. The V-Ray forum is so valuable, I wonder why the wouldn’t be here.

I would imagine forum users barely scratch 1%. I’m the only person in a company with 50 licenses who posts.

Do they just search and watch, or is all this stuff just reiterating what they already know? If so, wouldn’t the be happy contributing? How many do you thing are pirated copy users, who can’t be on here?

You’d be surprised at the number of people who work in 3d who just dont go on the internet much.

How do they get training? Are they usually self taught, have a mentor, or just do cruddy work?

Actually always asked myself this question. In my company with ~15 seats i am the only one posting. Though i am the only one responsible of updates , new solutions , workflows and etc.

this means that only few people have passion… if you have interest you have to look around and don’t wait that somebody tell you what is happening in the world.

I guess the 80/20 rule applies here, too.

I’m the only one in my company who keeps an eye on here! It’s my responsibility to report issues back and forth and try keep up with the changes.

I’ve been lurking for years, I’d imagine there are many more like me.

Funny. I am assuming there are all kinds of users. [quote=“Visual3D, username:Visual3D”]

I don’t want to imagine where I still would be in terms of skill without this forum. Not to forgot the awesome support Chaos Group is doing!
