Create Panel > Lights > V-Ray > VRayLight > Type > Dome > Adaptive Dome ON > Material Editor > VRay Maps> VRayHDRI > Load the Hdr > ColorSpace = None…and then drag and drop the map into the map slot of the dome.
Can we make a light and save everything about it to a preset ?
OR maybe set al that stuff up, save the max scene, then just merge it is to each new scene, you wish to use it in.. That’s how I would do it.. You could have a whole series of them. Daylight, Dusk etc and the only stuff you would have to tweak, is the rotation of the hdr, to suit the scene you are creating.
I use the dome light button from the V-Ray toolbar. It saves the first 6 clicks. Then, if you click on the texture button in the newly created dome light and select VRayHDRI from there, you will automatically get a browse dialog to select the bitmap file. The projection will automatically be set to spherical. There is no need to change the color space (the defaults are equivalent to “None”).
