Okay - I’ve CAD models set up using Vectorworks which contain 3D assets from Enscape - trees and other external elements, which were created prior to the switch to Cosmos being the delivery mechanism for Enscape assets. I’ve just opened a couple of these and all of the assets have vanished in Enscape. Visible (as before) as grey rough shapes in Vectorworks, but simply don’t appear in Enscape. This is NOT good.
How can I sort this out, folks? Please don’t say “rebuild the whole thing from scratch with new assets from Cosmos”…
Thanks
Phil B
Thanks for getting back to me about this. Turns out I am on the latest version, and signed in.
Further investigation - something very odd going on re Viewports in Vectorworks. If I look at the model simply in 3D space with relevant layers turned on (incl landscaping) the trees/hedges appear in both VW and Enscape. If I look at the model as a Viewport sat on a larger-area site model, the trees etc appear in VW but are invisible in Enscape. I’ve check layer/class visibilities and everything is set to visible in the Viewport. Is there likely to be some weird class visibility issue around the way the asset detail info is displayed as against how the rough outline info is displayed?
Thanks
Phil
A minor update - I’ve found the same problem now with other projects. Where I have a viewport which contains 3D entities (eg a site and building in a viewport on a street/area context) then the rough assets show up in Vectorworks but when I look at it on Enscape they’re all invisible. Could do with some help with this, people at Chaos. All my projects are set up like this and all are currently missing all Enscape assets.
Thanks
Phil
Hi Folks - I just want to note that I’m now on the latest version and this issue still persists. A couple of versions previously I noticed this issue had appeared in the “known issues” list on the update documentation but seemed to have slipped off it when I skim-read the most recent. It’s still an issue for me.
Asset library issues can be pretty confusing when everything seems to disappear at once. It’s a good reminder to check account sync and library filters before assuming the assets are actually gone.
Hi There - yes, this was pretty much the first thing I checked. It’s a very specific issue:- If I go to the model layer where the assets have been inserted, they appear both in Vectorworks (as white placeholders) and in Enscape (in detail). But if I go to a layer which includes the assets’ layer *as a viewport* then while the assets remain visible in Vectorworks (as white placeholders) they don’t appear at all in Enscape.
This is an issue for me as I usually set up a model layer which has correct orientation and just contains heliodons (for different times of year) and a viewport with the building / planting / site features inserted into it, so all projects set up this way no longer work properly.
