Vantage 2.5 Chaos Scatter not working

Trying to Live link a scene made with Vantage 2.4 and the Chaos Scatter is not working at all.
Am I missing something or is just a bug?

Does it work if you go back to Vantage 2.4.0 ?
Which version of V-Ray for 3dsMax are you using ?

Edit: I tried a simple Chaos Scatter scene with a live link from V-Ray 6 update 2.1 to Vantage 2.5.0 and it seems to be working.

I just switched back to 2.4.0 and is not working anymore.
I’m using 3dsMax 2024 and V-ray 6 update 2.1

In that case, can you attach the scene here or send it to our support so we can figure out what’s wrong ?

Does it actually work in V-Ray itself ?

V-ray GPU doesn’t work with Chaos scatter either, only the CPU version does.
Here is a test scene with the same issue.

What happens in Vantage and V-Ray GPU for you ?
Does 3dsMax crash or the instances are just missing ?

Max doesn’t crash, the instances are missing in Vantage or V-ray GPU.

For me, suddenly there are no instances with V-Ray 6 update 2, and 3dsMax crashes with V-Ray 6 update 2.1.
We will investigate what the issue is.

Did you recently install Corona v12 ?

If yes, you can try the following:
- manually uninstall Chaos Scatter for 3dsMax xxxx from add/remove programs
- install V-Ray 6 update 2.1 again (this will install an older version of Chaos Scatter)

The Chaos Scatter team is looking into a permanent fix for this that will come as a Corona hotfix eventually.

I have not updated to Corona 12 yet so I can’t tell if it’s fixed.

I have Hotfix 1 installed and it’s not fixed:rage:

Tested with Corona 12 Hotfix 1 + 3DS Max 2025 + LiveLink Vantage 2.5.2, it runs correctly.

I have 3ds Max 2023, strange I will reinstall Corona 12 and Vray to see if it fixes the issue.

Well, the strange thing is I don’t have corona installed ( never had) but somehow I can’t get vray scatter to run in vantage. Any ideas ? Vray 6 hotfix 3 and Vantage 2.5.2
