Bug with .mp4 format in LiveLink render. “Filename exists in render queue”
-
Again lost connection with viewport camera if i made some changes or create new in Max, Vantage works like normal, showing connected as IDLE LiveLink, but no any changes inside Vantage.
-
Again lost connection if i load Vantage config file with settings. Same problem as in 2. It works like connected. with blue IDLE LIVE LINK, but no any changes.
Hi Igor,
Thank you for the quick feedback!
Point 1 - Reproducing it here, with .mp4 and .mkv formats, the “Filename exists in render queue” notification pops up even there is no such file in the output folder. Logging it now…
Point 2 & 3 - I’m unable to reproduce the issue so far. Will try again with different scene.
Do we need any specific steps to follow or a setup in 3dsMax?
Try using multiple animated cameras specifically—ones set as the active camera in the viewport. The scene should be fairly complex—not just a simple box, but something with Forest Pack and numerous objects. The issue arises when I create additional cameras: Vantage stops responding to them and keeps displaying the previous one; furthermore, any subsequent changes to lighting or materials fail to update in the render. Yet, Vantage reports that Live Link is idle.
Thank you Igor, will try one more time with the new suggestions …
As for the Sampling Desynchronization warning, it is expected for a large scenes and we have some internal checks to avoid noisy frames due to an unexpected restart/update during LiveLink animation
Did more tests but still not able to reproduce the LiveLink disconnecting issue.
With and without locked camera from the Render Setup;
Creating V-Ray Camera from the toolbar, creating camera using CLTR+C, Physical camera, 5 x Animated cameras in the scene.. Config loading..
Perhaps we will need a scene file and steps to reproduce (or video demo). We can start a ticket and share an upload link with you ?
Thanks. This is my terrible scene. I think it doesnt works well because there are a lot of none fully converted materials from corona, but i am using V-ray. And there are a lof of heavy geometry, forest packs, proxy, so i found issue when i press Save scene in max - Vante lost connection. And sometime when i added new cams.
In other scenes works well.
Thanks for the update.
You can try the Scene converter or remove any unsupported elements from the scene. Generally the scene save should not break the LL connection, but there could be a case where it does. You can try a quick troubleshooting step by hiding and unhiding the larger layers to see if you can identify what might be disrupting the connection.
Sending the scene for a review is still an option.
