I’m creating an animation of a couple of roundabouts, and I’m having issues with vehicles not behaving in a desired manner. They often stop very close to pedestrians in a crosswalk, drive right in front of or behind pedestrians, and sometimes just drive right through pedestrians. Is there any way to adjust how far away a vehicle will “see” a pedestrian so that it will slow down sooner and stop further away from them?
I understand that traffic signals have a stopping distance adjustment, but my network does not have any traffic signals because it’s a roundabout.

As said in the other thread you opened, we already talked about this in a support ticket, but I would like to share also here some information I already shared with you there about how the pedestrian collision works in the simulator.
The pedestrians are not properly avoided sometimes because the “visibility” on each vehicle is very narrow, they just “see” the space that is just in front of them. This limitation exists because otherwise we get into all sorts of other problems when there are multiple roads close one to another. Using a wider view range, the vehicles will stop themselves also in that situation, which is an even worse problem. The same happens when a road has a sidewalk next to it.
We are aware that our current implementation can be improved, and we are already working on it. Meanwhile, the only solution we can recommend is to review the whole simulation in Anima and manually remove those pedestrians that get hit by vehicles [select them and use the delete key]. This delete action can also be done in the DCC app directly, and it will be respected when reloading that scene after saving. However, keep in mind the deleted models will appear again if you reimport that scene.
Keep in mind that removing the vehicles or actors inside Anima will cause the simulation to be restarted because the conditions have changed. To avoid that issue, you can also consider hiding the assets in the Anima Designer’s viewport using the Node Tree. Hiding the actors in the Anima Designers app is equivalent to removing them directly inside the DCC application, after the import is done. That will not affect the simulation either.
Another solution you may use in these cases where you want to keep part of the simulation without changes is to use the “lock” toggle in those paths. That way the simulation in those paths will not be affected by any change you introduce in other paths or other parts of the scene.
