Veras Usage

Hi Mods,

Are you able to help us better understand how the Veras Usage % works?

We have only just started using it & as you can imagine, testing to find the correct way to prompt requires a few attempts, so our usage is filling fast.

As we create & delete, the usage % changes without us fully understanding what the equation is.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi,

I would also like an answer on this?

I also have two licenses so i would imagine that due to having 2 x Enscape Premiums I get 2 x veras and the flow on of double the amount of veras quotas? can someone please explain in a little bit more detail for me? @Demian_Gutberlet

Thanks,

Daniel

Anyone? The silence is deafening.

With shared licenses, some kind of indication of total usage, per user usage etc would be really helpful.

Not that I’m complaining, but how is it possible to have more than 100% remaining?

Hi @Wade_Stephens , @Daniel_C_1 , and @rifkin , thank you for your inquiries as well as your patience. Allow me to explain a bit further below:

Veras “Usage %” can look confusing at first because it is based on a monthly generation quota, and works differently for named vs. floating licenses.

What “Usage %” is measuring

  • Veras usage is tied to your monthly allowance (it resets monthly).
  • Deleting previously generated results does NOT “refund” usage, because the generation already consumed compute.

Why the percentage changes when you create different outputs
Images and videos share the same monthly quota, and they are converted internally. From the official Veras notes:

  • 1k/2k image = 2 videos
  • 4k image = 4 videos

So if you generate a few videos (or 4k images), your remaining “image” allowance can drop, and vice versa.

Multiple licenses and shared licensing
If your organization has multiple eligible licenses/seats, your total available quota can scale accordingly at the org/account level, but the UI may not always make it obvious per user (especially with shared/floating setups).

“How can I have more than 100% remaining?”
This is just a temporary glitch while we update the beta quota amounts, and it should be resolved with your next billing cycle.

Please let me know if anything is unclear whatsoever, or if you have any additional questions.

“Can” and “may” are concerning - I get that you are working out the bugs but that isn’t a very reassuring answer. It should be a pretty clear need that as an account admin at least, we can see total usage. A breakdown per user would be super helpful. My understanding is that if we have multiple floating licenses, all the credits are pooled, in which case each user should see the same quota remaining (yesterday when i checked that was not the case.) Not sure how/why that is a difficult thing to show us. Obviously you guys are tracking it on your side. I suppose as long as we are being given credits over 100% rather than being overcharged, it’s all fine.

It also seems like it would be super helpful to have a way to buy additional credits if we run out. I opened a ticket for that and the response was to buy another subscription. But that means signing up with another email address, which in a corporate environment is not a particularly easy thing to do. (again there is a theme here that Chaos doesn’t seem to take into account the realities of applying these tools in enterprise.) And of course the general rush to roll out features that are not fully baked or thought-through.

On a positive note, I do really appreciate the addition of Nano Banana - it lets our users access the tool without needing to navigate the minefield that comes with Gemini.
