VFB goes black. only the time runs

Corona Team,

Why does this happen? Please see the attached file. This issue has occurred for years across both previous and current versions. I am currently using Corona 15.1.

When I click render or start IR, the VFB turns black. The only thing that continues updating is the total elapsed time. I can leave it running for hours, but nothing happens.

The workaround I currently use is very time consuming: I either have to start a new scene and XRef everything again, or, if I’m lucky, reset the render settings and load a render preset. Even then, it is still a hassle and consumes a significant amount of time.

Could you please advise what causes this issue and how it can be resolved?

Regarding the black VFB issue - could you please share a sample scene where it happens (even very simple) here or at https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new ? We would then investigate what is going on.


Regarding the reset settings crash - as the first step, please update to Corona 15 Hotfix 2 - Download | My Chaos

If the issue still occurs there, let us know, and send us a new minidump from this version (again, here on the forum or at https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new ).

Also, are you clicking the reset settings button while interactive rendering is running? Or in any situation, even in an empty scene?
