Something I have been fighting since switching to cinema from max, years ago now. The way the VFB works in cinema, in particular how it unloads vrimage is infuriating. I rendered a final vrimage and I load it to the VFB. It took 6h for the frame. I open the same file and draw my region render and when I hit render it unloads the RR and vrimage and starts a fresh render. I cant re-render the whole frame now, i just need to do some basic RR to fix a few things. Render mask is equally as useless because of this vrimage load-out. The only way I can manage is if I do any edits immediately after rendering final. If I work another shot or render on a different node, I’m fucked. Why is this such a problem? Is there no stress testing the Cinema build because this vfb issue is such a poor experience compared to max. I even tried to load in the vrimage, hitting “save to history” in the hopes that it will stick. But it always unloads and starts a new render.
Please tell me how this is supposed to work because its a complete mystery and no matter what combination of saving or loading it never works. Sometimes it works and I have no idea why.
