Viable 3ds+Vray+Phoenix combo to render volumetrics?

3ds 2024 user here, upgraded to Vray 7.4.1 and Phoenix 5.25 today. All’s good except Phoenix volumetrics won’t render.

According to a quick search, there might be a mismatch between Vray and Phoenix, but these are the latest versions, so what do I do?
Downgrade to Vray 6, or upgrade to a newer 3ds? Anyone know if either approach works?

Works fine on my end. Does it happen only on a specific scene? Any errors in the VFB log?

Clean new scene, default Phoenix settings. I’m rendering in Bucket mode using CPU.

Edit: There is an error
[18:27:27.339] Error : Error loading plugin library “C:\Program Files\Chaos\Phoenix FD\3ds Max 2024 for x64\vray6plugins\vray_phoenix.dll”: [loadLibEx] 127: LoadLibrary failed (127): The specified procedure could not be found.

Searched about it, saw something about Corona-related issues. Found some files about Corona conversion and material libraries (never installed Corona itself in this workstation) and deleted them, but nothing happened.

Hey,

Looks like you have installed Phoenix for V-Ray 6, but you’re using V-Ray 7. You can get the Phoenix build for V-Ray 7 from here - Download | My Chaos

Turns out I’m stupid, but I’m so happy I don’t even mind. Thank you Georgi!

I don’t know how I looked so many times at the installer’s name and never saw that, but that was it. Fire’s now rendering properly.
