Video Editor with detachable tool

I find that when using the video editor the menu’s placement is very distraction. Its nice to have the options to make adjustments but it covers a complete third of the preview window. Instead of having the menu auto hide how about making it detachable so that us users can see a full preview while making adjustments to the camera. #wishfullythinking

I can’t find it just now, but there was a feature request to be able to move that UI (but I think docking it or having it as a detachable window might be a better idea.)

Just curious has this been implemented yet? PLEASE! the controls are so obtrusive and the auto hide is not useful.
The controls take up a complete third of the window.

Thanks for your input. I understand that the screen real estate is not very effectively used here.
We are working on a redesign and have your thoughts in mind, but probably there won’t be a quick implementation in the next releases.
