Villa Rendering

Here is an entrance side view of a Villa we worked on for some time now. many revisions has been made to the model during the planning stage (this is v10 of the house) - this is the first actual render.

cheers

very nice overall ambient… plants and trees are excellent!

However IMO you have a little too much dirt on your road… i prefer subtle iregular ellements, but that depends on taste…

Also remove that dude and place one blonde walking by the house

Cheers.

Sinisa

Thanks Sinisa, that dude actually got to go - he is in correct scale but makes the house look very big (well… it’s big)

Here is the final rear view

and an older version of the planters that i like better myself

these are the model views from SU that we use for the planning followup’s work flow.

Cheers

you REALLY know with greens  plants indeed look more monumental in the older one, however they are much more balanced in new rendering - which tend to be more realistic.

two more things
- wood texture is just not good as rest of the textures in the scene (remove blur from material if you have it).
- sky is little too dramatic, try lightening and desaturate it a little.

Cheers

Sinisa

Great grass!

Would you mind sharing your settings?

Cheers,
Tim

they look awesome!
congratulations!

i envy ur grass and some olive(?) tree in the background!

great grass, would you please mention it’s creation process a little?
Thanks

Very nice render, lovely light.

Grass is great

Awesome renders!
I like the sky, I think it compliments the grass well.
Great lighting and grass.

I like them, very good ones. especially the second one you posted, even though as you say plants look a bit better in the other version.

did you your firm do the design as well?

Thanks for the feedback.

The grass was inspired by this thread,

it still has a link to the material that dude made - very good grass in his great images.

rivoli : we come from the architecture field in our firm so we have many inputs during the process, when we perform planning follow up… in this particular case is it mostly the client architect that called all the shots.

The work spanned 3 months or so for the SketchUP design process (many versions for the house) rendering took 2-3 days after the final version was decided upon.

Cheers.

Nice work mate. I tried that grass from the evermotion thread but I couldnt get it to stop tiling. What UVW settings did you use?

Yes it’s tiling for me too, can u share your UVW settings.
Tks

The tiling is due to the texture maps. It doesn’t look like they were designed to be seamless. UVWs won’t fix the promblem. I think you’ll have to do a little Photoshop doctoring to make them seamless. If you look at the images in the Evermotion post, you can clearly see the tiling.

Babek did a much better job with the grass.

bugger…I suck at making tilable bitmaps

The afternoon shot is simply amazing, one of my favorites. Can you tell us a bit more about it? What kind of lighting was used?

The grass source images weren’t tillable really, and since i had to adjust the colors due to my standard light setup i played a little with that aspect too.

on the grass plane i applied 2 UVW maps - one for the diffuse channel and the other for displacement. the same UVW just didn’t work for both.

My lighting setup is tuned to act like a normal camera would in the actual world, or rather, i think i manged to tune it that way  I’m still calibrating that using reference photos i take with my digital camera.

So… it is a VRaySun with default parameters usually, in combination with the VRaySky. sometimes i decrease the sun intensity and play around 0.7 - 1.0 range. The Physical Camera is set to ISO 100, F-Stop 16 and Shutter in the range of 1/100 to 1/200. i play with the WB too sometimes as needed.

Cheers, and thank u all for the feedback.

Great job. Very nice renders!
