We would like to see a way provided to get volume fog under Ocean, clipped accurately on Ocean surfaces.
(such that volume caustics also work).

Yes. I referred to it. (It was the starting point for this request).
But that is more complicated than using camera clips.
Also, this method does not allow volume caustics under water.
