When my project path contains Chinese, volumegrid cannot be rendered properly. Is there any hope to solve this problem
Nihao ma Aya,
Thank you for the post! What did you intend by stating that it is not rendered correctly? Is there no rendering at all, or is there a distinction between simulation and rendering?
Cheers
Unicode symbols are not supported with volume grid; therefore, a response is unnecessary. I will renew the issue.
There is no rendering at all
Nihao Aya,
The issue arises when working with strings that contain characters outside the base ASCII (0-127) range. So the best way to handle it is to rename the file sequences.
I can help you with a simple script. Please let me know if you need more assistance to run that script. Beware and please test it with a small number of files before use it with the orifinal files.
Cheers

What is the function of this script and how should I use it
Nihao ma, Aya,
You can run the script to update all vdb files that contain non-ASCII characters in the file name.
For example:
Your folder contains the files: žaba.vdb, документ.jpg, 文件.txt
The script will ask you for input of your new base name; for example, extension is vdb
base name: smoke
extension: vdb
After running, you get:
smoke_00.vdb
smoke_01.vdb
So žaba.vdb, which contains non-ASCII characters, is renamed to smoke_00.vdb, etc.
and
Unsupported files
документ.jpg
文件.txt
“”"
To run it, I guess you should check this first https://realpython.com/run-python-sc…ATH%20variable.
test it first with duplicate files
