I have one editable poly object with 16 polygons/elements. When I set image distribution mode to per element or per face, it is not working. If I switch to scanline everything works as it should.
Do I something wrong??

It is not yet supported, however there is an ongoing discussion with VP about this for quite some time, so improvements are definitely planned.
Also, native per-element support for Corona multi map is planned for the 1.7 release: Trello
