VR collision and screen shot

I wanted to ask to make sure that I understand incorrectly:

1 If I want to use 3-sensor ‘room scale’ with Oculus Rift, then Enscape will Not use collision detections for Stairs and Walls, is this true? I would like to be able to turn the collision detection on. . (Walkthrough Mode in VR) Yes, I understand the Teleport feature is to help with nausea, but the client reaction to ‘real’ stairs and walls help us, especially when discussing Distances, progression and Stair sequence

2_ There need to be a TOUCH button setup for 90deg screen shot while in VR. AND it would be great to have this in the stand-alone EXE versions. It would be good for a client to walk through and take a scree shot of something they like/dislike. There are buttons available in Oculus Rift TOUCH. As long as someone set the default location for save. Could even have app ask location when taking and then auto-number. This worked in past but am Not see a button with the TOUCH?

Could I be missing a setting?

Thank you-

Hi @New_learning & welcome to our forums!

Roomscale navigation and a collision detection for the spectator at the same time is just something that doesn’t work out without people getting massive nausea, as it’s completely counter intuitive. Image you’re walking with your body through the tracked space and suddenly the virtual “eyes” suddenly stop because of a collision in VR, but you actually keep on moving in the real world. The whole purpose of roomscale VR is, that your body-movement is absolutely in sync with your VR movement - not only to get better immersion, but also to avoid nausea, which you’ll always get when your physical movement doesn’t match the virtual eye movement exactly.

But you’re still able to navigate through your model with all collisions in walkmode, as you’re used to. Simply switch to the “Seated VR” mode (hold the ‘X’-button on the controller) and you can navigate through the model with your controller with collisions enabled.

Please take a look on our knowledgebase page on VR, where all the controls are explained: https://enscape3d.com/knowledgebase/using-virtual-reality-headset/

The VR screenshot functionality is on our development agenda. At the moment one way around this limitation would be to simply tell a second person to click the screenshot button on the Enscape ribbon while the person in VR is looking at the location you want to capture.

Clemens,

Thank you for your reply, it is appreciated (this is why we selected Enscape, because of your team’s responses- thank you).

I will try the seated option.
