I just received an email the other day telling me that a reseller in my area will be contacting me regarding a new dongle for the future upgrade of Vray 1.5 final. Anyone know what the new upgrade will consist of?
god I just wish we had our dongles period! Frankly I can’t think of a good reason everyone shouldn’t have dongles by now.
I know. They seem like such an inconvinience. Any word on what Vray 1.5 Final is though? I have 1.5 RC3 and I love it.
afaik, the hold up isn’t on chaos’s end though, but the dongle manufacturer?
Is there such a thing as 1.5 Final? Are dongles going to be available at Siggraph again this year? Do I really need one?
The dongles were meant for the RC releases. Thats the “new upgrade” they are talking about.
I’ve had RC3 for awhile now. They are only a few months behind

It’s kind of discouraging to always see the demo one release ahead of what most of us are using though. I’d much rather it be the other way around.

its not suprising to me. They were planning to announce it on sigg, and I suppose it has already happened.
Can’t download Max 7.0 version. Get “missing installation file” error message. Tried Max 8.0 version as a test and that will download but that does not help me since I don’t have Max 8.0 software. Anyone else having that problem???

Awesome… been waiting for this for a long time.
They announced it at the User Group meeting here at Siggraph just a few hours ago, so 1.5 is now officially released. They also showed a tech preview of some pretty impressive real time rendering stuff in the standalone version.
This is great! I can’t wait to shave another 30% off my render times. All I need now is the dongle, which has been a year in the waiting :?
