Vray 2.0 HDRi + Shadow plane issue...

Heya

I got a little problem…

I have 360 HDRI in my Dome light - all set to on except for visible and full spherical HDRI. -

Then I have teapot with chrome material.

Then I have a plane on floor

I added MTLWrapper

Disable Recieve GI
Tick on
Matte surface
Shadows
Affect Alpha
ALpha Contribution -1.0

I put grey VrayMTL in to base material

Here start problem I render image and I can see black plane around teapot.

The reflections pick the grey plane and shadows that teapot cast.

How can I get rid of it ? All I want to see is shadows in reflection + HDRI and have Shadows on alpha. - I also want to disable the HDRI image so I cant see it in render (tick off visible for light)…

Thanks, bye.

The trick is to override the GI environment color and set it to black in the V-Ray Environment section.

Best regards,
Vlado

Heya

Nop didnt work. I still can see the grey plane.

But I got a hot fix for it… What I did was instead of using VrayMTL I put there VrayLight with Instance of my HDRI from light. Thanks to that I got only around 3-7% difference in reflection - bare-ally noticeable. (a option with VrayMTL with diffuse set to HDRI also work but difference is a lot bigger…)

Still it would be nice if this would be finally fixed… I’ve been searching web and threads go as far as 2006 back with this issue…

Works fine for me… Can you post a scene here or email it to me at vlado@chaosgroup.com?

Best regards,
Vlado

Sure will do give me few mins will email you one. U would need ur own HDRI tho… so just chock in anything.
