Just simple question I’ve got and I will appreciate an answer to.
I have just purchase Vray for 3ds Max and I wander which version shall I install to use it with 3ds max 2018.
The newest one, marked for 2019 or a bit older for 2018?
Is the version for 2019 compatible with 2018 one?

You should use the version that is marked with the respective number, i.e. 2018. The version of V-Ray for 3ds Max 2019 will not load in 3ds Max 2018.

As vlado said there are two things: The version number of VRay (3.60.04) and the version number of Max (2018 ) For each version number of max there are the corresponding version numbers of VRay. So first you look for your max version, then see what version of VRay is available for that specific max version and download that one.

Will newest, Next (4) version of Vray for 3Ds Max be published separately for various version of Max as well?
Chaosgroup always publishes seperate VRay versions for seperate max versions. Software development works that way. With each change in the platform (3ds max in this case) come code changes that may/will affect the plugin (VRay in this case) plugging into that platform.
Also: nice use of “elucidation” - first time I hear that.
