Vray 6 Extensions Won't Show Up?

V-Ray V-Ray for SketchUp Issues

Hi everyone,

I’ve installed Vray 6 but however the extensions didn’t show up, then i get this load errors :

I did even tried to uninstall the previous version by manually then install the new version.

I need some help please! Thanks.

Excuse us for the delayed response!
Were you able to use V-Ray for SketchUp before or this is your first attempt?
Are you still experiencing the same?

If yes, could you please share a screenshot from Settings > Accounts > Other users to see are any specific symbols used in your username?
The same could be found if you click over Start button and start typing User and choose Add, edit or remove other users.

Yes, i was able to use vray5.

I had same problem with another product because of the thing that you say about the user names. My main users name was ‘Kullanıcı’, as you can see there are some non Eng. letters in it. Firstly i’ve tried to install and find if it’s working in another user with correct name and yes it worked. Then somehow i could change the name of my main user to ‘Kullanici3’ but it still doesnt work.

Please confirm that you have tried using V-Ray 5 and V-Ray 6 on the very same version of SketchUp. And which was it?
I am asking because the Ruby version is changing with the SketchUp versions, so this question should be answered.

Changing only the username with only English characters won’t change the situation at most, since the paths remain containing some non-English ones.
So, beyond the surface is looks solved, but it is not.

We could suggest creating a new Microsoft user with English characters only, but you have tried that and shared that then the issue isn’t visible.
Unfortunately this kind of errors are experienced when special symbols are involved and not only V-Ray suffers from this, you have detected this too.

Please confirm about the SketchUp versions and about the new Microsoft account.

after discussing this once more with our dev team we will try to improve this for the future releases.
You have already noticed that similar stuff could be an issue not only for V-Ray.

So, highly appreciated will be to provide the following information and we will try to replicate it in our environment:

  • SketchUp version (for now is seen 2020, but please confirm on which versions you have tried)
  • please paste again the non-working usernames to be extra sure that the special characters are included
  • please confirm was Windows installed on Turkish or on English and you have added Turkish language pack
  • could you share a similar screenshot:

  • is SketchUp installed in English (Turkish is not an option, but still - we need this answer, because combinations are available)
