I’ma having problems obtaining licens from remote softeare licens server with the ‘vray_adv_150SP1’ for max2008.
Anyone know why..?!
(I know it says “works only with dongle” .. but the prior inst.files said the same, and worked fine..)
While previous versions (e.g. RC3) did include the possibility to use the software license, the service pack does not work with it.

but… the ‘vray_adv_15000_max90_x64.exe’ worked fine with the software licens server system.
I’ve just (some moth ago) set up our licens server with 6 licences..
Arg.. Does this mean that I have to order that ‘dongle-thing’ now..
STTOOOOP… I’ve got the dongler… damn, I forgot.

For the dongles, please send us an email to vray@chaosgroup.com with all relevant information about your V-Ray purchase and we’ll sort it out.
For the .exe, I’m not sure where you got it from, but it definitely did not work with the software license server.

Well, vlado.. regarding the ‘vray_adv_15000_max90_x64.exe’, there’s only one place to get that and thats at the chaosgroup support section.. so..
but, you’re right.. I’ve had the dongle for time now.. with the 6 licences running fine.
Still, my problem now is that I cannot get a licens from a workstation.
when in max2008, applying vray as render, the ‘V-Ray:: Authorization’ flyout is the only one accesable with the ‘edit/set licens server information’ button..
It sems like my licens server (running on the dongle 
) wont accept the SP1 installs..
do I make sense..?! or.. shouldnt this be a problem..
Well, you need to update the license server from the service pack as well; it will not work with the old server.

everything was fine , then i installed vray for max 2008 32 bit and vray for max 9. Because i use all three for special purposes …
now he can not find the plugins anymore if i start max 2008 64 bit
dll can not be loaded …
3ds max 9 64 bit works fine so :evil:
Which plugins? Are you sure you installed the correct version? Also, check your plugin.ini file in the root folder of 3ds Max (the line about additional V-Ray plugins must be the last one).

DLLs not loading
all the 15 dll s that are in the vrayplugins folder
except vray proxy that one does it
deinstalled installed
PS:
OK i got 3DS Max 2008 64 now working after another install 8)
and now 3DS Max 2008 is also working
i deleted all files in all directories manually befor new installation. There must have been some garbage …

That was the problem.
The additional plug-ins has to come AFTER the main plug-ins one.
