VRAY + displacement?

Hi.
I’m working on a scene where I use a displacement mapping for the ground. I used a plane of 50 x 50 subdiv. for the ground, and I added a Displace Approximation modifier to the stack for the Displacement.

The results in VRAY (free) are no good. The Displacement looks like waves that don’t match with the original texture.

What is the problem?
Disp. Aprox. doesn’t work with VRAY?
I need to activate anything in the renderer?
Why it’s not working?

Please help me.

What’s the reason you don’t use the vray’s displacement?

Best regards,
Palee

How can I do that?

fabrizzzio

This is the way i do it …

Regards …Natty…

Thanks natty, but I don’t now how get that.
Im a VRAY FREE user, and VRAY material is not available (I think). Only VRAY MAPS.

Can you explain that to me?

Thanks for help my friend.

The bottom image explains what you need to know.
choose plane
1 go to the modifier stack
2 put a vray displacement modifier on the plane
3 put a map in the texmap of the modifier
4 give it an amount like 3

UVW Modifier on top of the vray displacement

then render …easy peasy

the displacemtn is not material driven …its modifier driven …

Natty

vray free doenst have displacement…

arrr
that would be why it doesnt work then lolololol…

perhaps you should download the demo ?

Thanks Natty. You rule!

…I will try another way, maybe a big bump map value… snif…
