Hi!
I’ve taken a 360 spherical panorama using a DJI MAVIC PRO 4 & stitched the panorama together to form a 32 bit EXR file, my question is - for applying it as a texture to a vray dome light (for HDRI lighting) what should the colour space of the exr file be?
Linear sRGB?
Linear Adobe RGB (1998)
Linear ProPhoto RGB
Linear Wide Gamut RGB
ACES2065-1
ACEScg
Linear BT.2020 / BT.2021?
I also have the option of uploading an ICC colour profile file
Thanks,
Max
Usually, HDRI’s are Linear sRGB. This will work fine for a dome light.
Thanks!
What would be the bitmap settings in max once imported? RGB primaries / color space transfer function etc etc or would you use vrayocio map?
The automatic ones (Auto / Default) should work. Will you use the ACEScg workflow or the legacy Gamma?
ACEScg workflow. Just a curious question, If i’m rendering in ACEScg, shouldn’t the exr file be in ACEScg?
That would work, too, of course, as it will save a conversion during rendering. But I presume (not sure about this) you need to tell V-Ray that the primaries are ACEScg.
