Haven’t posted in awhile, so I thought I might post a test I created, while figuring out the new environmentfog function. I’m finding it to be pretty cool, if a little ‘hard to predict.’ Some photoshop and AE added. Car is from a library.
Very nice, you’re definitely having better look with you’re fog experiments them me, any chance you could share you settings / scene ?
Oh sweet!
Percy, are those VEF clouds as well? if so, how easy (or difficult) are you finding them to combine with the VEF distance fog/haze? Or is that the post part?
everything is 3d, including the clouds. Post was some general curves, and the sun rays. I could post a stripped down scene later. Can’t provide the car of course.
Here’s the max 2009 file.
vray clouds test stripped.zip (21.4 KB)
render time?
I’d open the file & test but we’re still Max 9 sp2 atm. Thanks.
Thanks a million percy - I’m 3ds 9 aswell dammit - I’ll install demo so I can get at the goods - thanks again :]
thx a lot percy, you are da man
thx for sharing
WOW amazing clouds!
thx for sharing
Love those godrays! Love them!
I think this image demonstrates quite well what amazing images can be created when the new volume shader is properly put to work. ![]()
Best regards!
A.
The god rays were post matey ![]()
The whole point of the exercise was to see if I could get vray created clouds and godrays using the current tools. I could not. lol
It’s not impossible, but it’s tricky; it will be easier when we implement two VRayEnvironmentFog atmospherics to blend properly.
Best regards,
Vlado
It looks wonderful ![]()
I dont know what godrays are. I looked for in the dictionary but couldnot find. I guess they are the rays like the volume light?
so they are post?
can you show original render?
thanks ![]()
Awesome
Thanks for sharing, seems like you have cracked the formula for clouds!
Spike

I really want to use VRay’s new environmental features but haven’t had much success yet.
Wow. Beautiful!
Thanks for sharing.
I’ve been messing around with the new Environment Fog and haven’t had much success with creating clouds.I must say, you nailed it. Great job!
