vray frame buffer colors vs colors in photoshop

i’ve researched a ton of posts about this and i think i found the best solution for me.

when i save a file from VFB or when max saves the render (in this case i save as 16bit tif files) or if i copy a VFB and paste into a new photoshop file, looks like the best thing is either create a new photoshop file using my monitor’s profile and pasting the VFB image into it. Or, assign the monitor profile when opening a saved vray render (when max saves it out).

i read that in the VFB, you can apply the monitor profile or whatever profile you want, but it’s not embedded in the saved image. so when photoshop opens it up and you assign sRGB it’s slightly off. this is what i’ve been doing until now. either copy and paste VFB image into photoshop sRGB image or opening the saved vray render and assigning it the sRGB profile when opening in photoshop.

interesting. good to get as close a match as possible to what i see in the frame buffer now!
