VRay Free for Max 9?

Hey all

I use VRay advanced at work, but am struggling to justify the expense for use at home - I do some freelance work, but not a huge amount. Paying for my Max subscription was a push this year :frowning:

Anyway, I’m working on a little pet project (non-commercial) at home and wanted to use VRay for some quick test renders. I tried to download the free version, but it seems the latest version is only available up to Max 8.

Am I missing something or is the free version being discontinued?

George, it will probably be compiled once the final version of 1.5 has been released.

Ah, okay. Kinda makes sense. Any ideas when that’ll be, Vlado?

Seems a bit odd, though; I don’t know much about these things, but can’t they just re-compile the old one to work with Max 9? Might be losing potential customers - I for one bought the advanced version after playing with the free version…

It will be recompiled, yes; need to release RC4 first though.
