Vray fur + vray scatter + vray dirt crashing

Hi,

We?ve run into a problem where if we create a scene with vray fur, vray scatter, and an active vray dirt texture (meaning it is being evaluated at render time) vray crashes and it prints the following error:

// Error: line 1: V-Ray : Exceptio : Rendering region (coordinates of the bucket)

If we hide either the scatter object or the vray fur, or if we disable the vray dirt texture, then it renders. It is only when the 3 are present that it crashes.

We first saw the error in a production scene, but after some research we were able to reproduce the error on any scene, doing the following:
-Create a plane
-Create a cube
-With the plane selected, create a vray fur object
-With the plane selected, create a vray scatter object, and add the cube to the list objects to scatter.
-Create an Extra-Tex render element, and connect a vray dirt texture to it
-hit render

Is this a known bug? Has anyone encountered this or anything similar?

We are using:
-Maya 2016 Ext 1 SP 6
-Vray 3.60.02
-Vray scatter 4.450

Running on windows 7 SP 1

Thanks,

Miguel de los Rios

It might be a VRayScatter issue, you could ask them about it as well.

Anyone has any actual helpful input?

There’s no need to be disparaging about my suggestion, it’s a reasonable one to follow if you haven’t already, and I’m only making it because I believe it might help you. If VRayScatter causes crashes, VRayScatter support IS the place to start. If you’re looking for people who has experienced similar problems with VRayScatter, you’re likely to have more luck on the official VRayScatter forums, in addition to writing here.

As dgruwier suggested, do report the issue here: http://forum.rendering.ru/ or send an e-mail to rendering.ru

we fixed it , please contact us for latest build of VRayScatter mail at rendering.ru
