Hi
Something really strange happend with vray gpu 5 this is with progressive and with cuda engine in production render.
Right now i can render my spaces with RTX in bucket mode, but when i use cuda engine and in progressive mode vray gpu suffers and do very strange things like black squares, then is imposible to stop the render and i have to turn off sketchup or sometimes the workstation.
You can see in the image a very strange thing in that render, this happens only and sometimes on heavy scenes.
I really don’t have a clue why is this happening!!!
Sometimes i regret My self why i invested in vray gpu, hardware is very expensive and very fast but vray gpu is not full developed like vray cpu… And users just suffer.
Something really really strange happend with cuda in progressive mode!!! What a Bug, what a unstable moment with vray gpu.
Believe me sometimes vray gpu 5 can be very stressfull!!!
is like ging-gang the chinese Simbol.
Sometimes is black and sometimes is white, sometimes makes me angry and sometimes makes me happy.
Sometimes i just loose My time and sometimes makes the render with high Quality and fast.
I’m getting really tired with vray gpu!!!
Also 2d displacement is with default values and not a Big displacement. I’m doing the renders as it should be, everything is in his folder, materials, skys, etc so i don’t have a Mess with vray and My workstation… But this is not normal behaviur and is very stressfull that i can’t use cuda in progressive mode
Hi Luis,
I will get to reply to your threads tomorrow, I have just been busy with the new Beta
Hello again @luisgamino2
I’m sorry you are having issues, I haven’t seen those artifacts anywhere, we will try to reproduce on our side I will make sure this gets solved.
Are you on the recent Nvidia driver? could you please send me the scene muhammed.hamed@chaos.com
We consider all of your feature requests and bug reports, everything you reported on GPU LC has been addressed(memory usage, preview and performance). Same for the GPU translucency and other things.
I’m testing Texture compression at the moment in V-Ray 6, it cuts down memory usage by 50% in complex scenes(plus other memory optimizations, this should come to SketchUp at some point) here is a sneak peak,
About GPU displacement, we will take a look at this soon. I’m aware it takes a lot of GPU memory, hopefully it is something that we could improve
In the meantime, please upload me a sample scene for your displacement crash.
Have a nice weekend,
Best,
Muhammed
