How do i open .vrimg files?
i rendered a 7000pix image but i have no idea where to open it

Well, we have tried to use the vrimg converter to EXR to convert 10.000X10.000 pixels images with a size of 5+ GB and 5 gbuffer channels selected, but the application crashes even before starting. Then we tried to use the -bufsize option, but it’s unknown as a command…we couldn’t use it. So we are basically stuck with the vrimg format, no way to extract anything from that.
Later on, we rendered another version of this file, this time with no Gbuffers, the size was 2+GB. We were able to convert it.
So, we are wondering if there`s a limit in filesize and if it can be solved with some workarounds, or if this error is related to gbuffer channels…
Any ideas would be appreciated.

have tried to use this vrimgtoexr thing, which was posted by vlado, but i couldnt not even start it.
the application closes upon opening it. i have no way getting into the command line.

Ryan, you need to run it FROM command line. Its a command line program.. thats why it closes as soon as you open it.. because you havnt given it any commands.
open up a command prompt and thne run it from there with any variables you deem necessary.

I just tried to run the bufsize command that you said didnt work. And it appears to work just fine.
C:\vrimg2exr>vrimg2exr -bufsize
Buffer size expected.
Perhaps you left of the - ?
panthon what version of vray are you using?
We have tried it again with the -bufsize option with the same result, we are using 1.47.03. Maybe we have an old version of vrimg converter?
EDIT: Yes, we had an old version of this converter, at least we think it was, because there’s no way to see the version you are using. Now we are trying with our 5 GB file and it’s not crashing
