Vray is rendering the entire (uncropped) scene

Vray is rendering the entire (uncropped) scene. I setup my camera, made sure that the size crop is exactly what I want, but when I hit render it`s rendering the entire scene. I also could not change the settings on the Vray Camera.

One more thing, the dome light (hdri) is not visible in my final render.

Can you please send us the project along with the .vprops file?

Looks like you have the V-Ray render view option (first in the ribbon) set to a different view to the camera you have opened. V-Ray does not automatically change the render view when you switch between 3D views/cameras…

Actually, I don’t see 3D View 2 at all in the list of 3D views…
Andrew, do you have another project open in Revit at the same time? I suspect this is a .vprops issue.
Have you rendered this project with a previous V-Ray for Revit version or it was freshly created and rendered in 3.70?

Andrew is using the Revit browser organisation options to sort/group his views.

3D View 2 is likely not asigned a grouping and as such left in the (closed) ??? folder, hence not being visible.

I may of course be wrong on this, but have had people in my office with a similar problem.

Yeah, it might be in any of the other folders. Let’s see what he will say.

I don’t have any other revit project opened. Yes this is a fresh project and first time rendering in 3.70.

Hi Sara,

The .vprops file is an external file where the V-Ray settings are stored (we don’t store them inside of the Revit project). When you install a new V-Ray for Revit version and open an old project, the .vprops file is being upgraded.
We suspect that something goes wrong during the upgrade of the view settings. But in order to find what’s wrong, we need to look at the file. Because we are unable to reproduce the problem in our environment.

To find the .vprops file:
1. Navigate to: C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\Chaos Group\V-Ray for Revit 20**\Project Settings (where 20** is your Revit version)
2. Find the folder that corresponds to your project (the folder name should contain the first characters of the project name)
3. Send the .vprops file located in that folder. In case there are several .vprops files there → open the Revit project, click Save and see which of the .vproprs files will update. Then send it.

Mind that if you want to attach the file here, it has to be archived.

Please see my attached vprops. I tried saving my revit file and see which one updates but no files gets updates so I sent all the vprops. Thanks.

Ok. We’ve found what is causing the problem and there will be a hotfix soon.
Until then, the solution is simply to delete the .vprops file associated with the project.

I tried deleting .vprops file but the same problem occurs again.
Is there another solution I could try?
