Will it work?
As far as I know it works.
Vlado said they will realease a service pack when max 2008 will be available.
Don’t know what is the content.
He may have just been talking about the SP1 that gets mentioned every now and then.
The actual 1.5 for max9 64bits will work with 2008 64bits ???
Best Regards…
Im not 100% sure, but I believe so yes.
ok… strange think but i’ll try when i receive my 2008 copy…
Best regards.
The versions of V-Ray 1.5 for 3ds Max 9 (both 32- and 64-bit) will work fine with 3ds Max 2008.
V-Ray RC3 will also work, but the new Scene Explorer in 3ds Max 2008 will crash if you have V-Ray lights in the scene. With V-Ray 1.5, this is ok.
As far as 3ds Max 2008 is concerned, the service pack deals with the correct intensity of V-Ray lights in the viewports. The other fixes are not specific to 3ds Max 2008.
Best regards,
Vlado
Thanks for clarifying Vlado ![]()
Does the shadows feature in shaded viewport mode of max2008 work with Vray 1.5 and Vray materials, just like they have shown in their demo movie?
or is that a feature that is not available at the moment?
thanks
Vivek
Yep, shadows mostly work. Like I said, the service pack addresses some issues with the brightness of the lights, but other than that all is fine.
Best regards,
Vlado
so whats new in 2008 max that is worth … getting it for? ![]()
so far no problems with max 2008 x64 and vray 1.5
is max 2008 out yet?
@lukx: Is backburner working in 2008? With render strips? And vray DR in backburner? I didn’t think these were working in max 9…
hmm, render strips were working in 9 (there was problem before sp but then it was fixed), DR I’m not using. About render strips in 2008 I didn’t yet tested it but so far it looks like the most stable max in autodesk history :).
Lukx said stable and Max in the same post. That is funny!
 hilarious
Yeah apparently its rather stable, and much quicker in viewport speed
