Hello!

Do I need to install Vray as a special Vray render Node or is this handled automatically at render time?

During the installation select 3ds max render server if you want to use that machine only as a render node.

Is Phoenix FD included in one Vray Render Node licenses?

Phoenix FD has its own licenses separate from V-Ray.
