i am a licenced member of vray/chaosgroup. trying to get hold of the new build but it doent seem to be avalible to me on the build download area
anybody shine some light on the subject?

As mentioned in most of the threads you might have heard about the newer builds they were not released to the public. They are rather internal builds. If you have a Problem with the current build you can write vlado a mail and if a newer build might be fixing your problem then he will send it to you.

1.48 and onward are internal builds. not public builds. as mentioned if your having a serious bug then you can email chaos guys and they might be able to sort something out

lol. thats what i get for clicking to post something then walking away from the computer then comming back and seeing i forgot to submit. i didnt see instincts post when i 1st clicked
the upsetting thing is i hear via the grape vine that theres already an illegal v1.48 up for download on some pirated sites!!
whats the deal there. i really would like to be using the new features that 1.48 has but being a paying customer i definatly would prefer it to be legal!
That has been discussed in various threads already…there are pirated versions of some newer build then the public ones…BUT they are very buggy intermediate builds that were handed out only to very few beta-testers. Running that in a production environment would be suicide as a side note.
If you feel cheated…i´d suggest sticking to the other threads…it´s getting a bit annoying to see new threads daily about how “unfair” it is not to get a buggy build

I dont think its a case of feeling cheated, possibly frustrated, that these crims are getting hold of the newer versions of vray before the paying customers, I dont think it matters that it was a buggy release, could just as easily have been a good release.
I can understand your annoyance at reading threads about the next release, but people naturally want to know what is going on, I and i expect many others would like to know the state of play with the next release.
We’ve had some sneek previews of what the next release is capable of and heard people talking about vray sun etc, well, preview images and reading other threads about the next release is great, but when are the rest of us going to be able to play :?
Just how far away from completion is the next release? I know we’ll never get a fixed date, but will it be this Summer, Autumn or next year :?:

@Steve : I can understand that quite well…but there are LOTs of posts and even Threads on exactly that topic…i´m just wondering why ppl think the info given in the 1.5 Announcement Thread would be wrong or sumthin. If they dont read them at all then i´d say it´s a classic case of basic forum use to use the search before opening a thred

I completely agree with you about the number of threads on the forum about this subject, I think we’ve all scrambled around searching out the different threads trying to get whatever scrap of information we can about 1.48, 1.5, vray sun, release dates etc :roll:
I think most people do use the search function on the forum, but i think sometimes, especially with searches on things like the new release of vray, this can just add to the curiosity, especially if you hav’nt already seen the information released by Vlado about 1.5, we find out tantilising bits here and there and naturally want to know more.
Alot of us know where we can go find Vlados update on 1.5, but i bet there are just as many that dont, so i’m wondering if it would be wiser to put the announcement somewhere prominent on the forum where it cant be missed, by regular users and by new users alike

I’ve got some proglems with the current build and want to know if they are currently fixed. I poked around a bit and found a build that I hadn’t had before. I have 1.47.03 but there is a file 1.47.18 in the dowloads section on the vray site. I Don’t, however, see what has changed, Nor do i see anywhere that tells you build information.
I’ve requested the newest build from Vlado, but it’s been a week with no reply so i assume that he’s either too busy to deal with it or is just ignoring me. I was actually told by someone from chaos to request a new build, so i am assuming that the bug might be fixed. Man it would be nice to be able to render my scene properly.
I’m kinda wondering if this 1.47.18 has any fixes that are worth me updating the renderfarm, or if that’s just a demo. It says demo, but I never know if that just means it’s a demo if you don’t have a license, or if it is Just a demo.
Does anyone know, or know where to find this information?
the current build is 1.47.03, period.
The demo isn’t authorizable, and watermarks the image.
Plus it’s timebombed.
The only way out is mailing chaos, as you well said.
I guess they’re fairly busy these days…

thanks for letting me know that it truly IS a demo only.
It’s just very frustrating when you know there is a build somewhere that most likely fixes your problem…but you can’t have it yet.
New features?..I can live without for now, but being able to actually render my scene? That’s a bit different. That’s one of those things where I want to be a bit more selfish and get my update.
I guess I’ll just have to wait like most everyone else. It makes me jealous though how some people have it and some don’t. I obviously am one of the “dont’s”
so am i
