Thanks Vlado…one more plugin to distract me at work!!! ![]()
Thank’s Vlado :), very usefull! But why not for all VRayFurMap?
It is specifically made for the directional maps; for the rest you can use the normal VertexPaint modifier.
Best regards,
Vlado
I vlado, yes, i know that for the other map you only need a B/W map and that i can to do this with VertexPaint modifier, but it’s usefull to have all maps in one modifier. Another wishlist? ![]()

Hi…great plugin…thanks Vlado.
Coincidentally I was jsut going to post about VrayFur Because I’m trying to make a “shag rug” using it.
I’m wondering theres any way to assign diferent color to each strand like in the picture.
I would be nice to be able to assign diferent matID to the strands or any other method like getting its color from the material applied to the source object.
Is something like this in the TODO list??? ![]()
Thanks again
Just use a very fine Noise map with UVW mapping, should do the trick.
Best regards,
Vlado
Hi Vlado!
When used in max9 64, you lose the preview for both VrayFur and VRayFurStyler.
Makes it a bit hard to use…

Works fine here…

update?
Hi Vlado,
when I actually learned how to use it, it turned out to be really nice ![]()
But is there any update to max2010?

please, an update for max 2010 would be very nice
Hi. Wondering if this will get an update for max 2010. I have had some thoughts on using this to paint directions for the autograss plugin. Does it generate the same rgb values ? ( I.E 1,0.5,0.5 = positive X and 0.5,0.5,1 is straight up as described in the autograss docs).
Hmm…somehow didn’t see the 2 posts asking for a 2010 version before me ![]()
You can get this here:

Life saver…you are…master said! ![]()

hi Vlado
thank you very, very much…!

Hello,
I am testing it Vray Fur Styler for the first time. I am using max2009 with Vray 1.5 SP4a.
When I try to paint, I don’t see the results in the viewport.
Is this normal or is something wrong?
1. I put UVW map on source object. (I both tried box-mapping and planar mapping)
2. U put Vraystyler on source object.
3. On vrayfur object, I put vertex color map on Bend slot. I copy this map to Material Editor and make the map channel 2.
4. 3. On vrayfur object, I put another vertex color map on InitalDirection slot. I copy this map to Material Editor and make the map channel 3.
5. I select source object, click on paint and try to move the direction of fur in the viewport. But nothing moves or happen.
What am I doing wrong?
You would need to instance the maps to the Material Editor, rather than copying them, before setting the map channels.
Best regards,
Vlado
Actually I instanced the maps and I intended to mean this. Sorry about the mistake.
So what could possibly be the reason that I can’t make it work?
