Well, it looks like newer versions of Nuke include a pretty good noise remover; from what I understand, it can analyze a static noise pattern (like when you turn on the “time independent” option for the DMC sampler) and use that to improve the noise reduction for animations. nuke has this!? damn, i always thought of this as fairy tales. i’ve used slights blurs on render elements to kill some noise at times, but it mostly does more damage than good. too bad i am confined to composite or after effects, some smart blur with edge detection or something might be nice, there…
