using max2016 vray 3-40-02

Dude, this stuff must be ancient. I have co-workers younger than this…

xraymaterial from vray-materials.de… just wanted to test the look of it. but you`re right, its from 2009. but pay attention, child work is forbidden in germany

Nope, he is 17 and our apprentice.
Can you substitute the dark tree shader with a falloff and some noise for bump? Doesn’t look to complex.

thanks oliver,

thought the whole information in the .dsts shader, opened in editor , is more complex than a falloff and a bump ?
don?t know exactly how much of that is interpreted by vray…

thanks anyway

Seems to work fine with 3.50.04 - would you please update and see if there is any difference.
If it still crashes would you please pack the scene and send/attach it for investigation?

I managed to crash it, it occurs immediately when loading the .dsts file and gives the following error:

Since those as discussed are way too old I don’t know if this crash is going to be fixed at all.
I’ll make a note into the system but I’m afraid that SimbionMtl will be rather removed from UI than to be improved, unless it is easy fix.

thanks for your work svetlozar, no problem…i have a good material
