VraySphereFade

When I go to creat the VSF, I get the error…

// Error: VRay environment volume is not set. Check VRay/Environment section in Render Settings. //

So I turn on “Use Environment Volume” in the render settings, but I cant map anything to it and get this error…

// Error: menuItem: Object ‘shadingGroupCheckBox’ not found. //
defaultNavigation -defaultTraversal -destination “vraySettings.cam_environmentVolume”;

Is this feature not connected yet in Maya 2011 x64?

Thanks

Enable “Use environment volume”, create a “Vray Sphere Fade Volume” material in the Hypershade and drope it into the Environment shader slot in the Render Globals. Then go to Create → Vray → Create VRaySphereFade.

Should work this way.

This problem must be fixed in the next nightly builds

Yeah I managed to right click and asign from there

Wish you could have “multipple” sphere fades in a scene,
so you could constrain to each object.

This way safe huge overhead of rendering

You can add several sphere volumes to the same shader, should do the trick.

nice..

i’ll do that.

O

Lets say I changed a characters t-shirt to jacket in an all ready renderd animation could you parent the spherefade to encompass the jacket area and render out just that section as it moves through the scene…

Yes, you can, and that’s the beauty of it
