Vrmat files error uploading

I have downloaded vray materials from various different sites, but when trying to upload them to my materials library on Vray asset editor, it just comes up with an error saying they can’t be uploaded.

(error says: " Error /Users/Anya/Documents/Vray materials/*file name*.vrmat could not be loaded " )

I have tried using different websites and different file types (e.g. vismat, mat) and just trying different downloads but all come up with this message.

What is the problem and how do I fix it? I really need specific materials that aren’t available in the default materials library.

Hi @anya_goddard ,

If you share some of the files you’ve tried loading, we’ll be able to tell you the reason.
I suspect that some of these files are quite old and are no longer compatible with the current V-Ray version (the vismats for example).

Have you tried the material available in Cosmos?
The library there is constantly expanding and I hope that one day you’ll be able to find everything that you need there.
