So this is the next one I’m working on. Hopefully I’ll have better luck with daylight this time 8)
I’m not exactly sure what is causing the noise at the bottom. Should I raise the subdiv. on the vray light i have at the top? Right now its at 15.
Also, I’m going to have to put plants & trees in the 2 areas by the stairs. I will probably end up comp’ing them in photoshop, but have also thought about getting a plants plugin like speedtree or something. For those that have used any of those, what would you recommend for quality, ease of use, & speed?
hello timmatron. looks very nice. about the vray light- i’ve had the same problem and unless you use another light source inside the room you sould use more subdiv.keeps us posted. good luck.
hello again sorry for the million questions but i downloaded and installed the 1.45 beta and i just tried to create the toon material. The only vray mats i can find are vRay Mat , vRay LIte mat, and vray mtrl wrapper.
Is this correct?
Yea you were looking in the wrong place. Its actually an option in the environment tab. Here’s a tutorial Natty put together a while back. Hope this helps
thanks for all your help eek now i have another problem im going to have to try and figure out after installeing the beta its asking for the vray license server i dont know why that happened i have a licensed version and now it wont let me use it EEEEEEEEEEK
Here is pretty much the final version. I’m not a big fan of the color selection here, but I had no choice. The planters actually were my biggest challenge since I didn’t use any 3d plants. So I think it could be better, but I will have to keep that in mind for next time.
He he, the cmu columns were actually the one thing that I cut from the existing photograph & pasted onto the rendering. It took a bit of work to get them all to look ok, since in the original most of them were blocked by trees & plants. I considered trying to render it using displacement, but I realized why should I go to so much trouble when I don’t need to.
