War of the Worlds

Hey there,
I’m a newcomer to Max and Vray and this is my first post here.
Not a very representative one, since I mainly do Archviz. This was done for a collector’s edition of HG Wells’ War of the Worlds. It includes a test render of the creature and a few design alternatives. (Client picked the version with the white background)
As a beginner, I would be immensely grateful for any advice on how to improve my work.
Cheers,
PS: And a link to a Quicktime turntable animation of the model.

EDIT: Image embedding doesn’t seem to be working so here are links.

Thanks a lot guys.
I’ve done quite a bit of CG, but I’m pretty much a baby when it comes to Max and Vray. Hence the newb thing.
I love Vray but it never ceases to puzzle me. Still got a lot of learning to do…

Puzzling…

Never ceases to puzzle me even after 5 years, a bit like women…

Love the model! Materials and lighting look good as well.

Love the turntable, really helps show off the qiality in the materials. And some sneeky blooms, maybe a Nuke adition?

Thanks M Hinks. The bloom was done in AE.
