Anyone got a decent glass material for watch face?
Can’t seem to get it right
Not sure if you mean the glass covering the face, or the face, as the title says one thing but the question another
For the glass, just regular glass would do - sharing a render that shows what you’ve got with an explanation of what you find wrong with it and a screengrab of the material would likely help people to give some advice (otherwise, “regular glass settings” is the best they can suggest, most likely
)
Watch glass is the least spectacular part of a watch rendering (or photograph), as you’ll notice when looking for references: it is either totally invisible or obsures the face more or less with reflections from the environment. The latter is avoided in any commercial photograph. Watch glass is a very even glass cylinder, not much about it.
There are various watch glasses - they differ in shape, material, etc. They can be made of glass, plexi, sapphire. They can be single-layered or 2 or more layers. They have bevels or are entirely flat. Some of them are even convex or concave.
So a reference photo would be best. ![]()
