water caustics

i am trying to get water caustics like this

all ive been able to get is

can someone please help me out.

i can post setting but in general i am using irradiance map/light cache.

there is one light under the water and several just below the ceiling.

any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

i wouldnt worry about lights under the water.. you probabaly wont get the caustics you want. best to have something shiny down on the water with some reflection on the water.

I sometimes uses just a direct light that its purely for caustics doesnt affect the lighting in the scene at all.

Can you post your caustics settings as well as how many caustic subdivs you have for you lights.

Try settings up something like what i mentioned.

you need a spot light to shine onto the water eather from below or above. Also you need decay and well then just tweak.
