Website created with the help of V-Ray

Hi fellow V-Ray aficionados,

Usually I am no archiviz guy, but I was asked to design and visualise virtual office interiors to serve as locations for a company website. I considered it a challenge and accepted the assignment.

The result has just gone online. You can find it here:

www.focusonfinance.nl

I hope you like it.

All the best,

Metin

MAN!!.. i like that fade effect… did you do the flash as well - if so can you explain fade procedure in flash?

The Interiors are really nice and crisp - like the meeting room and the one with the waterbowl (love the bubbles).

As for a website… probably a bit heavy to load - still having to wait a bit on my 8Mb connection.

Overall really nice though…

Thanks very much!

I didn’t create the technical side of the site. It was done by this guy:

good job on the renderings,

the site is not very responsive though, it takes long time to load, and when going back to the reception, it takes long time before you can click another button. The transitions are cool.

i get a pic of a reception counter and xmas tree after two intro screens? then i can’t do anything after that :?: :?:

what’s up with the site

too bad it only works in IE… guess I won’t see it…
actually too bad it doesn’t even work in IE!!!:smile::smile:

Thanks for your comments guys.

Yeah, the navigation is a bit of a nuisance, having to go back to the reception each time you want to go to a different location.

The site is tuned for IE 6 or higher, also not very convenient, but oh well, I only did the renderings, so I’m innocent!

Cheerio,

Metin

Not to sound like every Slashdot freak you’ve ever met, but websites with sounds are a HUGE pet peeve of mine. As someone who always listens to MP3s when I’m on my computer, the last thing I ever want to do is open a page that playing some ambient noise. I can’t mute it because then I lose my music too. At that point, your website is competing with whichever artist I’m listening to -- and I’m afraid Philip Glass won.

Shaun

Ah, Philip Glass, a fellow connaisseur. Here’s what I’ve got from him:

- Candyman soundtrack
- Facade, from Glassworks [beautiful!]
- Soundtracks from the Koyaanisqatsi trilogy
- Religion
- The Hours album

I completely agree with you concerning websites with sound, although I think the tunes of the Focus on Finance site are not bad. Besides, I’m an MP3 listener as well and you can switch off the tunes without switching off your MP3 audio. Guess you haven’t tried.

Cheerio,

Metin

I think I was listening to either Music in Twelve Parts or Solo Piano when I posted that… It’s rainy and cold up here today -- seemed very appropriate?

You working on the site now? I just went back to try and switch off music like you said, but it won’t let me past the first page. Did you build a mute button into Flash or do you mean turning off sound in the browser? Obviously I didn’t try, I also got a little impatient with the load times. I’ll blame that on MTV.

Shaun

install flash 8, then it works.

I only installed it for you metin
seriously, I wouldn’t go for flash 8 at this time, and it seems the site doesn’t neccessarily need it. The problem is, the site does load, even if you don’t have flash 8. I’d advise him to correct that

Thanks Gijs, I’m flattered!

I’ll pass through your feedback.

Cheerio,

Metin

site looks… althought a bit sluggish to use.

Works fine on opera 8.51 with flash 8 plugin installed

It’s great to notice that you archiviz experts actually dig my interior designs. I am a total dillweed when it comes to that area of the visual field.

Thanks ‘n’ cheers,

M7

Wow, you’ve actually got more than twothousandfivehundred posts, DaForce! How is your personal life? And do you really like your job?

Well i do work 60hours a week in a fairly mediocre job.
So i generally have plenty of time to trawl the forums hehehe
And given I dont have much time for 3d at all.. the forums is a good 3d hit for me

 But is your job 3D related at all or are you only able to use V-Ray in your own time? I hope it’s the first.

Cheers,

M7

In my own time :frowning:
(which isnt all that much)

That’s a pity, as you must be a big V-Ray fan, regarding your number of posts. Ever though of shifting towards professional work using V-Ray, such as an archiviz job?

Cheers,

Metin

Yeah I have.

Just got to get around to sorting it out, and getting a portfolio done.
But given the little time I have to do 3d its a bit tricky.
