What went wrong with the website?

Hi everybody,

Our forum is back online!

As most of you have already experienced, our web servers were down for a couple of days and the download section as well as the forums were unavailable for over a week, due to a severe hardware failure.

We have successfully restored all data prior to July 7th, however most of the information after July 7th was destroyed and unfortunately completely lost. This means that all the forum user names and forum topics created after July 7th are missing. We have a copy of the user database for the download section locally in our office without any losses, but it will take us some more time to rebuild the user profiles updated after July 7th.

If you can not log in or download your builds, please send an e-mail to vray@chaosgroup.com or any of the other support emails or directly give us a call:

nevermind the “after july 7th” posts loss…shit happens!!!

we will build it back up :))))

although i must admit i will deeply miss some of the posts :slight_smile:

so what happens with the old data u have backed up? will you upload it back to forum at some time?

how will this affect the search function?

The search function works normally, using the options that you specify.

Thank goodness for that! It feels like I am alone out here without the vrayforum!!!

Found myself lurking on other sites I normally wouldn’t becuase I was so bored with nothing to read. It’s good to be back though!!

I only noticed that the forum was back because i went through the main website to get here, you should send out an email or something because who knows how many people are missing due to the old direct link to the forums being dead.

The old link should work now as well, redirecting to the vbulletin forum. Will see about the email.
