When Live Link is activated, 3Ds MAX freezes when isolate/end isolate in large scenes

Isolating an object for editing is often necessary in large 3Ds Max scenes (several GB in size).
Every time I isolate/end isolate, 3Ds MAX freezes for over 30 seconds when using Live Link.
I’d like to suggest adding an “Ignore Isolated” checkbox to the Live Link setting.

I encounter the same issue. “Ignore isolate” would be a great feature (if possible).

Hi guys,

You can try using the “Render Hidden Geometry” option in the Render setup window in Max. This way geometry should always be visible in Vantage and export of the whole scene shouldn’t happen so Max won’t freeze. Can you please try it on your end?

Best regards,
Alexander

No. I always have the “Render Hidden Geometry” function turned on, but when I isolate objects, 3Ds Max will still freeze more than 30 seconds in a 2GB interior scene.

Unfortunately, I’ve tried what you suggested, but it didn’t work. I’ve mentioned the issue raised by the person who started this thread before, and I believe it’s a known problem.

Even if we pause, the blockage persists.

but it returns to normal when we disconnect

Hi serdar_turanl,

The Pause rendering button it doesn’t stop the transfer it only pauses rendering in Vantage. The scene transfer is handled by V-Ray and Vantage doesn’t have control over what and when to export.

Alexander

So will this bug be fixed? We all hope that when we isolate or end isolate, the geometry will not be transferred. (Or controlled by 3Ds MAX’s “Render Hidden Geometry”. Now it doesn’t work)
