when u download vray for maya from official dl page inside archive u will find vrlservice_adv installer :wink:

Can you keep the same vrlservice that you used for 1.5 , or do you need to upgrade the version to have it accept the new license ?

For VRay 2.0 you need to upgrade the license server, the one coming with 1.5 won’t work. But VRay 1.5 will work with the new license server.

p.s. you need to upgrade the available licenses in the dongle.

It would be very nice if the VRay2.0 floating licenses could serve VRay1.5 and VRay2.0 versions.
(we never switch all our productions at the same time)

No, this won’t work, you need the license server coming with the installation for VRay 2.0.

As I’ve said already this will work without any problems.

You previously said that VRay 1.5 will work with the new license server (without changing the license itself).
I wanted to be sur the VRay 1.5 would still work with the new license server AND the updated license (on dongle).

Now it’s clear it will work.
